Klaus K is a designer hotel located in the late-19th-century Rake building. The hotel is inspired by Finland's national epic, the Kalevala. This wonderful hotel will be going through a remodel during this fall and will reopen in February 2013. The goal of the remodel is to Transform Ilmatar and Ahjo area into a lobby/lounge;
one continuous space visually and physically where hotel guests and locals connect ( work, eat, drink, meet, socialize, see/be seen)
in a comfortable, approachable, stimulating environment while retaining the contemporary inspiration
from Kalevala.In the spirit of co-creation and World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 anyone can submit – on a cocktail napkin or a 3D CAD file. The best idea will be rewarded during an event in the hotel as part of the Helsinki Design Week 2012. The main designer is Mr. Erik Nissen Johansen of Stylt Trampoli AB. The same guy who designed Klaus K Hotel back in 2005. He will complete the design with all the ideas, comments and suggestions that are received.
