Sometimes when designing spaces I can not find the right pieces and I have to design them myself. This is how BLOcK was born.

Multi-functioning office spaces are a growing trend. Casual atmosphere will increase the satisfaction among employees with more relaxed collaboration and meetings. Well planned casual space supports  interaction and  more spontaneous meetings and gatherings, encourages brainstorming and increases creativity.  Since casualness is being embraced at work from a relaxed dress code to furniture design , I feel that the playful nature of The BLOcK would be a welcomed addition to existing lines we already have available. 

Design Thesis

BLOcK product line supports flexible, relaxed work style. BLOcKS can be arranged in variety of ways, both vertically and horizontally, that fit different spaces and functions and

exudes and encourages innovation and creativity.

Design Statement

BLOcKS are re-configurable modules that allow the space to be flexible for both work and play. BLOcK contains modular pieces varying in sizes of 24”, 36”, 48” 72” in width and are 24” deep and  of height of 8” and 18”, and can be used as seating or work surface. One side is solid and the other side accommodates inserted cushion.  Product line also contains planters and  storage units of same shape and sizes and therefore  can be seamlessly combined  with seating/ work surface.  

Employees are encouraged to arrange their own collaboration spot to best fit their needs. If building vertically, BLOcKS can be secured with screws for added security.  All the BLOcKS   have an option for electrical outlet with USB.

Product line also includes 12 x 12 hexagon shaped acoustic panels with wood frames to match the BLOcK. These panels can be arranged in various ways and can be either attached to wall or hung from the ceiling, which also creates a space divider

Material:

Birch multi-ply and laminate and an added solid whiteboard surface option for work surface for notes and drawings. Cushions and throw pillows come in various color options.

Surface Colors:

Storage Unit frames come in either birch frame and white interior or white frame and birch interior. Planters are either birch with white accent or white with birch accent to keep the look cohesive.
