The Culinary Design Challenge 2013 - a fun competition and a fundraiser for We Don't Waste

I had the pleasure of participating this fun and brilliantly organized event as a member of The Blue Team. The four teams were: Team GE MONOGRAM (Black) led by Chef Martin Yan, of Yan Can Cook; Team WOLF (Red) led by Chef Elise Wiggins of Panzano; Team MEILE (White) led by Chef Michel Wahaltere of AMBLI and Team THERMADOR (Blue) led by Chef Virginia Davis of The Kitchen Mistress.
All teams were given the same set of ingredients consisting of items such as ground buffalo, duck breasts, broccolini, stilton and goat cheeses.  Each team worked under the direction of their chef to produce an entree which was then evaluated by the panel of judges ; Darrin Alfred, Daniel Asherand Patricia Bainter were the judges for the event. 
The Main sponsorLuxe Magazine, paired with a high-end kitchen design showroom, Kitchens at the Denver, to host four teams of acclaimed local designers and chefs for an entertaining competition benefiting We Don’t Waste, a non-profit organization that works to feed the hungry. Perfect combo for a brilliant event.
The RED team led by Elise Wiggins, executive chef of Panzano, won the competition with their delicious recipe for seared sea scallops
